Group(s) consists of from three to ten programmer/analysts specializing in computer graphics for broadcast, plant automation/control, and consulting. Projects entailed applications software development using mostly C and UNIX. 
Specific duties, responsibilities, and projects included: 
  • Project Manager for various Sybase RDBMS client/server software applications, including a Satellite Reservation System. This system used Unix signals, Open Server rpc's, APT-Lib, DB-Lib, triggers and stored procedures to implement the automatic update of APT 4GL screen forms in both character terminal and X-window display environments. 
  • Developing software to run Odetics TCS-2000 automated (robotic) video cart machine system for NBC News. Designed and developed an efficient and consistent user-interface suitable to News' requirements. Provided training, support, monitoring, and troubleshooting of operational issues. Software has been used daily on-air on NBC Nightly News with Tom Brokaw and Today
  • Developing software utilities for graphics artists using Wavefront 3D software for image modelling and rendering. 
  • Participating in the designing, installing, documenting, and maintaining of a mixed-media ethernet connecting 30 Unix (TCP/IP) hosts, several PCs, Macs, X-terminals and terminal servers throughout the network. 
  • Providing systems administration of Unix hosts and assisting in the administration of mail and news connections to other internet sites. 
  • Administrating hardware and software maintenance contracts. 
  • Installing vendor supplied and free software, bug fixes, and system upgrades.
