Rex Espiritu
is a worship leader emeritus for Sunday evening worship services of prayer
and praise at Mount Lebanon United Presbyterian
Church in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He has grown up in the Presbyterian
Church (USA) as a pianist/musician, vocalist, composer, arranger and
director. After serving full time on the pastoral staff at Faith United
Presbyterian Church in Medford, New Jersey upon graduating
from Princeton Theological Seminary
with the M.Div. (previously serving part time as the Associate
Director of Music at Faith Church while pursuing graduate studies at Princeton),
Rex is now serving as senior pastor at First
Presbyterian Church in New Castle, Indiana.
In addition to leading worship, serving as a leader in Stephen Ministries,
preaching and other things involving pastoral ministry, he has taught a Sunday
school class on Spiritual Gifts.
Milestones in his journey over the last decade or so as a worshiper
include leading over 2,000 men in worship at a Promise
Keepers Wake-Up Call 1994 and as a band leader with several
thousand men at a PK Mega Wake-Up Call 1995 in the Pittsburgh Civic
Arena. Rex has also served as an Evangelism Volunteer and as a Counselor/Intercessor
with his wife at the Billy Graham

As an ordained Elder
under care of Session at Mt. Lebanon Church, he was ordained a Minister of Word
& Sacrament in December 2004 by Pittsburgh
Presbytery where he served in leading worship for the Sacred
Steps Stewardship Conference 1998. In the interest of nurturing
a heart for mission and worship, Rex has also served in leading worship
for the Sunday morning service and other contemporary worship venues for
the 93rd and 94th annual New Wilmington
Missionary Conference 1998 & 1999. He has served on
two teams as worship leader for Spirit
Alive 1997-1998 conferences in Casper, WY toward
congregational
renewal sponsored by Presbyterian and Reformed
Ministries International and has also attended and served on team for a number of
Dunamis
Project conferences toward
leadership
development. He was previously employed as a Senior
Systems Engineer at a high technology firm in Pittsburgh.
